Ben Draper is a full-time dog handler and trainer based in Birmingham, AL. After his brother suffered a bite, he spent his childhood fearing dogs. Now he now spends most waking hours training and rehabilitating them.

In 2014, Ben began working at Oh My Dog, Vermont’s #1 dog daycare facility, as a daycare attendant. After his passion for dogs became clear, he quickly rose up the ranks and became a manager and the first in-house trainer to come out of Oh My Dog. During this time he did on-on-one training and taught a class on dog behavior and handling called Natural Obedience.

Ben works with all dogs, but has immense success with dogs who struggle with social interaction and those that have a history of physical aggression. His method is physical and inspiring. After working with their dogs, owners will often see a primal personality in their dog that they didn’t know was present. The lasting result is a happy, playful dog that is ready to obey. Ben also provides in-depth explanations of the “whats” and “whys” of training so owners can have a better understanding of the method and continue to practice it in their daily lives.

In the coming years, Ben hopes to help as many clients as possible while advancing his knowledge of dog behavior.
